Provides the strategic development, direction, and overall day-to-day management of the Terumo BCT Global Warehouse, Logistics, and Transportation organization. Responsible for daily and long-term customer order fulfillment, and multi-warehouse oversight.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Global Logistics

  • Responsible for the management of the global warehouse, logistics, and transportation functions for Terumo BCT.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Planning and Procurement to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of customer shipments as well as inbound goods and raw materials.
  • Provides significant influence on short- and long-term business goals. Communicates logistics strategy effectively to all departments to achieve timelines.
  • Develops and directs the implementation of plans of the global warehouse, logistics, and transportation functions to achieve cross-functional goals.
  • Responsible for the development of the optimal global warehouse and logistics strategy that best meets the global customer contract requirements, global inventory optimization, and global SIOP requirements. The strategy development includes global network modeling and analysis, strategic 3PL and 4PL feasibility studies, benefit analyses, implementation strategies, supplier negotiations, and supplier relationship development.
  • Responsible for the global import/export functions, including trade and security regulatory compliance (OFAC, BIS, duty drawback, C-TPAT, and NAFTA).
  • Responsible for global assurance of supply chain compliance in a regulatory environment.
  • Responsible for the successful management of the existing Terumo BCT global warehouse and logistics supplier relationships, agreements, processes/systems development and improvement.
  • Accountable and responsible for the integration of the selected logistics strategy with the overall Terumo BCT business goals and objectives, as well as financial responsibilities and achieving results.
  • Provides key support and initiative in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Provides key support and initiatives for all Terumo BCT manufacturing plants globally.
  • Participates and promotes staff participation on cross-functional and/or inter-organizational teams.
  • Build a strong self-directed team to deliver exceptional products and support to customers.
  • Responsible for the planning, procurement, supplier management and negotiations, and inventory control of the third-party distributed products.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's Degree required, Masters Degree desired.

Experience

  • Requires fifteen or more years of experience in the management of the warehouse, logistics, and transportation functions in a global environment.
  • Demonstrated management experience with global and domestic warehouse operations, logistics network modeling, cold chain constraints, transportation modes and requirements, international shipping requirements, import/export compliance and management, and warehouse facility operations, including benefits and risks of shipping modes and storage method alternatives, inventory control methods, and inventory expiration requirements.
  • Has demonstrated experience with 3PL and 4PL suppliers.
  • Experience in the medical or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Proven leadership and managerial abilities demonstrated by developing, coaching, and training others in an organizational setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting and finance in order to analyze costs and benefits of strategies, projects, or initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects while successfully meeting budget and schedule constraints and project objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively in a global environment developing strong linkages at all levels and cross-functionally.
  • Experience in inventory control methods and transfer pricing methodologies.

What does this role look like?

For our Denver corporate headquarters, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Supply Chain Planning. The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Planning is responsible for leading and developing a Team of Senior Supply Planners. Driving functional understanding of requirements and expectations for the Team, acting as the liaison between manufacturing and business, who are responsible for how to most efficiently leverage our network production capacity, while balancing and managing all facets of Leprino Foods Supply Chain, with the main objective of meeting all customer service and financial metrics. Leadership

  • Ensures proper KPI reporting and by reviewing of Production Planning and all associated input / output of process at micro and macro levels.
  • Creates and tracks Supply Chain Planner performance to assess; customer impact, distribution network use, financial performance, Production Plan accuracy, Inventory overage or obsolescence, out of age product and timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Coordinates with the Business Process Manager to implement recommended systems and process improvements. Responsible for all change management associated with said improvements.

Customer Service

  • Coordinates with Planning Team and Manufacturing, to make the order fulfillment process seamless and transparent, with little to no deviation from original purchase request, either direct from factories or through the utilization of 3PL providers, all in effort to maintain customer service levels at or above the outlined target.
  • Coordinates with Planning Team responses to customer service issues as result of Planning, to ensure impact is resolved and systematic and sustainable corrective actions are deployed.
  • Aligns with Manufacturing, Sales and Customer Service, to ensure clarity of expectations, fulfilling on obligations and meeting agreements and commitments of all customers (internal and external)

Financial

  • Tracks and manages all inventory movements in and out of factories, to ensure compliance and adherence to documented warehouse utilization and inventory objectives.
  • Through process and communication improvements, decreases the impact on warehouse utilization and warehouse efficiencies related to production Hold and Release, shipment and management & rotation of downgrade products.
  • Validates the overall departmental spend as relates to inventory and distribution plan out of the production facilities, along with capturing and communicating all variances.
  • Reviews and approves/rejects charges per monthly other adds related to over production, transitions and associated impact to Plant, Company and Logistics financials.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely and collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers, Document, Inventory and Quality control groups to procure materials.
  • Identifies new and existing suppliers capable of meeting materials specifications, quality requirements and lead times to successfully support production schedules and meeting customer commitments.
  • Requests quotations, negotiates pricing and delivery schedules. Facilitates contract and T&C negotiations.
  • Compiles quotes comparison matrixes and collaborates with project managers for optimal supplier selection.
  • Releases new materials and maintains pricing, lead time and purchasing parameters in the ERP and Document Control systems.
  • Issues purchase orders and manages open orders in the ERP system.
  • Monitors open purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveries.

Overview:

Supervise and oversee the operation of the stockroom and shipping and receiving areas. Ensure the team and processes are in place to support the goals and objectives of the organization.

Reports to Supply Chain Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that daily stock room tasks are resourced and accomplished correctly
  • Develop, communicate, train and oversee policy and practices for inventory, job orders, shipping, and receiving transactions within the ERP system
  • Maintain accurate inventories of stockroom items in an organized, safe mannerVerify that all shipments are compliant with export controls including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)Participate in production meetings and maintain focus on backlog and customer deadlinesSupervise stockroom personnelConduct performance Check-InsPlan and support team cross-training
  • Identify and facilitate training and development needs
  • Ensure adequate team coverage based on workload
  • Approve time cards, time-off requests
  • Work with the team to identify opportunities for continual improvement
  • Develop and maintain work instructions for international and domestic shipments including: packaging, labeling, customer documentation, certificate of compliances, and shipment method.
  • Supervise cycle count program and participate as needed in annual physical inventory audits
  • Participate as needed on cross-functional teams to ensure cohesiveness of product flow between the stock room, supply chain, and production
  • Maintain KPIs for the warehouse and shipping & receiving
  • Lead by example and uphold Company values and beliefs

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in inventory control or manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years experience in a supervisory or leadership roles
  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Analyst or CPIM preferred
  • Careful attention to detail and math ability required
  • Must have strong computer skills and systems understanding and strong knowledge of Microsoft software
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Position is 50% at a desk and 50% on your feet or walking.
  • Must have strong communication skills and ability to work with a variety of individuals throughout the organization
  • Must be a team player and willing to assist all areas of REO
  • Self-directed

Pay Range $68000 - $85,000

This position requires the use of information, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
