Provides the strategic development, direction, and overall day-to-day management of the Terumo BCT Global Warehouse, Logistics, and Transportation organization. Responsible for daily and long-term customer order fulfillment, and multi-warehouse oversight.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Global Logistics

  • Responsible for the management of the global warehouse, logistics, and transportation functions for Terumo BCT.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Planning and Procurement to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of customer shipments as well as inbound goods and raw materials.
  • Provides significant influence on short- and long-term business goals. Communicates logistics strategy effectively to all departments to achieve timelines.
  • Develops and directs the implementation of plans of the global warehouse, logistics, and transportation functions to achieve cross-functional goals.
  • Responsible for the development of the optimal global warehouse and logistics strategy that best meets the global customer contract requirements, global inventory optimization, and global SIOP requirements. The strategy development includes global network modeling and analysis, strategic 3PL and 4PL feasibility studies, benefit analyses, implementation strategies, supplier negotiations, and supplier relationship development.
  • Responsible for the global import/export functions, including trade and security regulatory compliance (OFAC, BIS, duty drawback, C-TPAT, and NAFTA).
  • Responsible for global assurance of supply chain compliance in a regulatory environment.
  • Responsible for the successful management of the existing Terumo BCT global warehouse and logistics supplier relationships, agreements, processes/systems development and improvement.
  • Accountable and responsible for the integration of the selected logistics strategy with the overall Terumo BCT business goals and objectives, as well as financial responsibilities and achieving results.
  • Provides key support and initiative in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Provides key support and initiatives for all Terumo BCT manufacturing plants globally.
  • Participates and promotes staff participation on cross-functional and/or inter-organizational teams.
  • Build a strong self-directed team to deliver exceptional products and support to customers.
  • Responsible for the planning, procurement, supplier management and negotiations, and inventory control of the third-party distributed products.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's Degree required, Masters Degree desired.

Experience

  • Requires fifteen or more years of experience in the management of the warehouse, logistics, and transportation functions in a global environment.
  • Demonstrated management experience with global and domestic warehouse operations, logistics network modeling, cold chain constraints, transportation modes and requirements, international shipping requirements, import/export compliance and management, and warehouse facility operations, including benefits and risks of shipping modes and storage method alternatives, inventory control methods, and inventory expiration requirements.
  • Has demonstrated experience with 3PL and 4PL suppliers.
  • Experience in the medical or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Proven leadership and managerial abilities demonstrated by developing, coaching, and training others in an organizational setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting and finance in order to analyze costs and benefits of strategies, projects, or initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects while successfully meeting budget and schedule constraints and project objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively in a global environment developing strong linkages at all levels and cross-functionally.
  • Experience in inventory control methods and transfer pricing methodologies.

Skills

  • Complex contract negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact productively and to effectively influence peers, external colleagues, and senior management.
  • Knowledge of current FDA, USDA, regulatory, and ISO requirements and trends affecting medical devices.

  • In-depth knowledge of SAP and manufacturing resource planning systems and project management.
  • Excellent knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), product specifications and incoming inspection procedures.
  • Excellent math, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of warehouse management systems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CLTD (Certification in Logistics Transportation and Distribution) and / or) CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) preferred.

Target Pay Range: $143,200.00 to $179,000.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 30.0%
