Job Summary
Designs, executes and leads Air Methods warehouse and storage strategies and processes across aircraft parts and consumable supplies. Supervises daily warehouse activities while managing departmental budget relating to shipping, receiving, storing, and testing of related inventory. Owns all of Air Methods freight spend and associated carrier relationships with the goal of reducing cost year over year. Institutes lean principles across Air Methods warehouse facilities to drive productivity and cost savings
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following
- Create, implement and lead best in class lean principles across Air Methods warehouses to drive productivity and cost savings
- Supervise & develop employees engaged in receiving, storing, inspecting and shipping aircraft related parts and material necessary to support company air medical operations
- Develop & lead cost savings initiatives across all of Air Method’s freight spend, managing carrier relationships and engaging new vendors and contracts
- Lead the network optimization project in partnership with the Supply Chain Manager (inventory) to select and then build out optimal storage locations for aircraft parts. Manage regional logistics coordinators, owning receiving, storage and shipping at remote facilities
- Review and disposition all freight and warehousing invoices, shipping documents, owning the warehousing and freight annual budgeting process
- Expedite parts support and ensure on-time delivery of parts associated with offsite field management and base mechanics. Ensure parts meet expectations and FAA documentation requirements
- Plan, develop, and implement warehouse safety, security programs, and activities. Manages Air Methods 6S lean initiative for organization and cleanliness of assigned work areas while ensuring that department complies with oversight requirements. Reports any associated risks and assists in the implementation of controls to manage loss
- Oversee all International Air Transportation Association (IATA) training and certification for employees who ship hazardous material. Complies with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations for safe transportation of inventory
- Coordinate shipping and movement of company aircraft via various transportation methods. Ensure safe and timely movement of such aircraft

The Role:
The Purchasing Agent works cross-functionally with multiple internal and external departments to ensure adequate item availability to support sales. The Sr. Purchasing Agent for Electronics and Contract Manufacturing (ECM) is responsible for supplier relationships, inventory/ asset purchasing, in depth understanding of the global commodity market for electronics.
