Production Planning Manager-Ball Corp-Westminster

Primary Purpose of Position :
Provides production planning management and technical support to the food and aerosol division’s new centralized Planning and Control function, in support of the division’s plans and objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Oversees near term, as well as, long term capacity planning for selected areas of container manufacturing, i.e., cans, ends, coating, litho, coil cutting.
- Prepares overall capacity vs. requirements reports and coordinates the offload of any material shortages to outside sources for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Manages, in conjunction with direct report, the creation of new spec numbers and changes to existing bills of material.
- Responsible for the creation and distribution of monthly production, sales, and inventory recaps for the household packaging division.
- Analyzes point-to-point logistics to ensure the most cost effective network codes are being utilized.
- Facilitates meetings with plant planning supervisors to coordinate activities between manufacturing plants.
- Provides administration of multi-plant inventory dollars to maintain appropriate levels based on established goals.
- Provides QAD MFG/PRO assistance to plant production control supervisors.
- Manages all outside service centers while working closely with procurement, finance, and plant operations.
- Aids in administration of plant budget forecast and goal processes, as they relate to the planning and control function.
- Balance the operations of supply chains across multiple products/categories and geographies.
Position Requirements:
- Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college level education or work-related experience
- Job related experience for 1 year minimum.
- Working knowledge of the following areas:
- Manufacturing principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures
- Logistics management, production planning, manufacturing environment, financial management, business principles and practices
- Microsoft Excel, QAD MFG/PRO
- Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard production planning techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- APICs certification desirable.

Global Procurement Information Specialist
Johns Manville is currently looking to hire a Global Procurement Information Specialist located in Denver, CO.
This position resides in our Global Procurement and Logistics organization and plays a key role in maintaining up-to-date data related to our suppliers, plants and customers. This role also acts as a corporate buyer and creates purchase orders in SAP. Daily interactions with updating this information in SAP.
Responsibilities:
- Manage pricing data in SAP such as supplier/plant specific material pricing, tiered pricing, and volume discounts using PIR's (Purchasing Info Records) and Source Lists in SAP
- Verify that price approval processes are followed.
- Create Purchase Orders for assigned material groups in SAP
- Act as back up for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) Material Master Information Specialist
- Coordinate with plant location with data needed to manage discrepancies.
- Monitor complaints in SAP and drive efforts to improve Rapid Resolution to internal customers
- Evaluate end-to-end process time for material master, source list and purchasing info record data updates and drive adherence to set service levels
- Assess whether data change requests meet legal documentation requirements and conform to company data governance standards
- Oversee data quality and approve or deny change requests based on policy guidelines
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned
- Supply chain analytics related to spend
Requirements: (education, skills and abilities)
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of procurement experience (both verbally and written)
- Expert accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Solid knowledge of SAP material structure, pricing structure and data governance standards
- Strong analytical, multitasking, organizational and decision-making skills
- Solid problem resolution and negotiation skills
- Proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Minimal travel required (0 -- 10 days per year)
- Work environment is typical of an office setting
