Job Description
Primary responsibilities of customer facing manager:
- Manages forecast, inventory, shipment information, and demand analysis services for breweries, distributors, distribution centers, import partners, contract partners, field sales and marketing personnel, for $9B, 65 million barrels MillerCoors business.
Executes company shipment plan objectives while balancing the goals/costs of MillerCoors and distributors. Ensures sufficient product supply by directing Distribution Centers that supply product to their customer base, ensuring sufficient product supply. Aligns directly with specific sales regions and breweries for MillerCoors products. Central point of contact for all product supply, operational and service related issues for distributors within the assigned geography/scope of responsibility to include both strategic (distributor inventory analysis, collaboration, peak and year-end DOI adherence, distributor forecast performance) and tactical (order change requests, approval of exception orders, buy/sell transitions, order and reporting deadline adherence, status of direct and DC deliveries/shipments) responsibilities. Plans the execution of the Sales & Operations (S&OP) plan with best in class service to distributors through efficient and effective use of breweries and service providers.
- Drives value creation for stakeholder groups on initiatives/issues touching the distributor where feedback and/or the distributor point of view needs to be represented. Approach issues with a sense of urgency and solution orientation.
- Drives to continuously meet or exceed service, financial and product supply goals by partnering with the DC/Inventory team and other internal stakeholder groups.
Analyzes truck/rail configuration results and root cause on finished goods loss for continuous improvement of processes. Responsible for other non-distributor facing daily/weekly responsibilities, including the manual confirmation of unfulfilled demand and finished goods loss mitigation. Analyzes projects/efforts to improve performance in service areas such as distributor out of stocks, loaded compliance, keg out of stocks, DC out of stocks, order fill and on time arrivals.
- Communicates relevant issues/updates to the Field Sales organizations regarding distributor related issues that fall within the assigned geography/scope of responsibility.
- Leads and develops 3-7 supply chain professionals that are part of customer service and supply teams.
Qualifications
Education Level and/or Experience
- 5 Years Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Production Planning, Forecasting, Sales & Consumer Goods industries.
- Bachelor’s Degree or MBA in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or Business desirable.
Skills And/or Knowledge
- Leadership and coaching skills to lead a team of professionals.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of interdependencies of production and capacity planning, scheduling processes, distribution methods, inventory management, network optimization, material flow, planning, forecasting, transportation, distributor operations, sales, marketing and budgets.
- Excellent service skills to champion, advocate and strong "voice of customer"; seasoned experience in developing collaborative relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Strong PC (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS-Outlook) and analytical skills, experience in Business Objects and SAP are highly desirable.
- Expert knowledge of distributor order management systems and processes, both internal to MillerCoors processes as well as distributor order management process.
- Ability to understand the needs of the customer and develop and execute supply strategies that meet both the customer and MillerCoors objectives.
- Ability to quickly assess situation, identify root causes of issues, generate multiple solutions, make sound decisions, and effectively communicate at multiple organization and functional levels at both MillerCoors and at its distributors.

This role is supporting our Boulder Business Unit which is l ocated in downtown Boulder, Colorado. Scope Of Position
The Supply Planning Director will be the key lead for Supply Chain planning to the category team and broader supply chain team. They will manage a team of direct and indirect reports that include production planning, deployment planning, finite schedulers and material planners for 5 plants and 20+ external manufacturing locations. This position will be responsible for overall KPI delivery in Service, Cost/case, cash flow and slow moving/obsolete inventory for their category. They are also responsible for managing short and long term capacity analysis ensuring that the planning activities are synced with the overall business objectives in growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Supply Planning Director leads team meetings, both regularly scheduled and ad-hoc with counterparts in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, R&D, Engineering and Commercialization teams based out of Boulder, CO; as well as plants production and procurement personnel located throughout manufacturing network.
- Supply Planning Director has a key focus on optimizing inventory, resource and production plans, while achieving goals of lowering SC cost, improving customer service, and increasing network optimization.
- Leads continuous improvement projects and / or efficiency plays in the evolution of the supply planning strategy.
- Makes recommendations via Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process to determine long term requirements for production and inventory.
- Develops multiple scenarios, articulates key decisions and recommendations to Supply Chain Leadership team highlighting service, inventory and cost tradeoffs using planning toolkit.
- Ensures that master scheduling and rough cut capacity planning are being developed by team, as well as developing and monitoring DOS targets throughout the network.
- Owns Slow Moving and Obsolete visibility throughout the entire process, working with Marketing to monitor new products and proactively adjust production, and with Sales to identify and execute run out strategies.
- Manages assigned SKU’s throughout the entire supply chain and communicates disruptions to Category team and Supply Chain leadership team.
- Works with R&D to coordinate the New Product Launch process from initiation to customer delivery.
- Manages inventory for a portfolio of resource lines to achieve established targets.
- Defines and sets safety stock targets and manage portfolio with SKU velocity conditions in mind.
- Monitors Days Forward Cover and Weeks of Supply levels working together with team to ensure that inventory is available by location to support projected demand.
- Responsible for the development and delivery of manufacturing and distribution plans in support of annual and quarterly financial projections.
Qualifications
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of experience in Supply Planning —preferably in food manufacturing
- Business or Operations experience, with solid quantitative skills
- Excellent consultative skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization
- Solid leadership and skills concentrated on data gathering, meeting facilitation and data dissemination
