Supply Chain Planner/Purchaser
Mountain Racing Products (MRP) is searching for a talented, growth-oriented individual to purchase, plan and manage inventory throughout our complex international supply chain, including our Grand Junction, CO bicycle component manufacturing facility, U.S. and international vendors and international warehouse/ distribution facility.
This position reports directly to the company president and works with all departments to ensure that MRP is able to meet our growing demand, while also effectively managing our cost of goods.
Responsibilities include:
Inventory Management & Production Planning
- Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory by ensuring that data is correctly entered into ERP system, managing daily cycle counts and maintaining visual inventory systems.
- Assist sales and engineering by creating part numbers and BOM’s in ERP system as new goods are needed and ensuring that BOM’s are up to date and accurate.
- Manage long lead time inventory through accurate forecasting and analysis.
- Plan International Sea Transit shipments for US inventory supply.
- Manage inventory levels to maximize inventory turns and reduce excess inventory and inventory waste.
- Responsible for accurately planning against sales order demand and current inventory levels to manage inventory.
- Coordinate in-house machining schedule to meet order demand while maintaining lean inventory systems.
Purchasing
- Responsible for purchasing inventory, supplies, tooling and materials for the company.
- Purchase and manage international warehouse inventory levels to meet international and US demand.
- Communicate specification requirements, quality and timing with all outside vendors.
- Work with existing vendors and source new vendors to get best possible pricing, quality and delivery times.
Receiving
- Responsible for visual inspection and receiving goods from outside vendors as well as internal machine shop.
- Ensure that all parts are accurately received into the ERP system and that invoices match PO’s and ROG’s.
Successful Candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, logistics, and/or relevant supply chain experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including solid understanding of excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, organization, initiative and the ability to take a hands-on approach to inventory management.
- Experience working with an ERP database, forecasting and statistics.
- Basic SQL knowledge a plus.
- APICS certification preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Activities require a full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Within our corporate Supply Chain team located in Denver – Leprino is seeking a Senior Supply Planner. Will you turn your passion for supply chain into impact by directly contributing to a world’s best performance in customer service, materials management, and demand planning?
At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $71,000 and $83,000. This position has an annual target bonus of 5%.
- You will be responsible for generating an efficient master production schedule for assigned manufacturing locations by review planning systems, handling finished goods planning parameters and distribution plans.
- Support new product launches, maintain targeted inventory levels, minimizing out of stocks and obsolete inventories.
- Exceed company customer service goal of 99.0%, by coordinating sales order fulfillment, directly or through third party distribution network.
- Generate an efficient master production schedule and maintains highly accurate 12-week production forecast.
- Work with Plant Materials Management to prepare weekly production schedule, which meets customer demand, improves plant production efficiency, and minimizes freight costs.
- Using all Planning systems, handling finished goods planning parameters, review of forecasts, establish safety stock levels, settle optimal production run sizes and define lead times for products supplied from responsible locations.
- Understand number of budgeted/actual operating days and the available supplies of milk, ensuring customer order can be fulfilled within defined service requirements and all milk in consumed into optimal finished goods materials, to minimize obsolescence or out of age inventory.
- Provide information and update to other parts of the organization to enable good business decision making and ensure flawless execution to the customer.
- Review and measure daily and weekly production attainment and inventory availability while working with Plant Production, Plant Corporate Quality Assurance, to ensure timely review, release and/or disposition of production and inventory.
- Support the ongoing efforts to foster the principles of Leprino Quality by maintaining an outstanding dedication to customer service, product quality, business ethics, leadership, and employee involvement.
- Be a highly effective leader at Leprino, including Division/Dept leadership, cross functional leadership, and initiative/project sponsorship.
- Integrate Leprino core values into all aspects of Supply Chain Planning by demonstrating continuous improvement, teamwork, and distinguished customer service (internal and external).

- Responsible for managing all inventory, shipping and receiving activity, as well as administrative functions for our Contracted Outside Warehouse locations (3PL).
- The analyst acts as the owner of our account and leads all activities in these categories to support a 99%+ customer service target and profitable bottom line.
- On average, the analyst is responsible for 40 million+ pounds of inventory and 100+ customer orders per week across our facilities.
- Critical to this role is a continual review and reconciliation of inventory, including inventory rotation, product aging, inventory status and inventory levels by product and location.
- A successful analyst possesses a continuous improvement mindset, positive attitude, and ownership mentality.
- You will serve both customers internal and external, learn and be curious, and execute with a high degree of attention to detail.
