We are currently looking for a Supply Chain Planner to maintain the operations product requirement plans and procure the required raw materials, bulks, and finished goods from internal Manufacturing. This position ensures approved inventory targets are met in accordance with appropriate state, federal and international regulations. The Supply Chain Planner will lead supply chain planning operations for several locations and departments within the organization, including supporting a laboratory environment. Level commensurate with experience.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor inventory level to ensure product availability to fill customer orders. Address and communicate supply risks and potential obsolescence to Supply Chain/Operations management.
- Evaluate materials in inventory and plan appropriate batch sizes accordingly.
- Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders for assigned products. Work with suppliers, manufacturing, logistics, and accounts payable to resolve shipment and invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Continuously improve forecasting techniques, method, and approach. Hold regular meetings with external and internal suppliers to discuss latest forecast, shipment schedules, supply delays, and risks.
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of all planning and purchasing data for assigned products to ensure valid and accurate MRP output. Maintain the inventory level of purchased materials and revise product masters as changes in usage or supply occur.
- Participate and/or serve as Supply Chain representative on assigned company projects. Lead and participate in process improvement programs for the department and cross-functionally as opportunities arise.
- Provide input to the initial supply agreement for forecast frequency and delivery conditions. Track and adhere to existing supply agreements according to existing terms and conditions.
Education
Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years’ relevant experience or Master’s degree with 4+ years relevant experience; prefer degrees in business, engineering, supply chain, or science
In lieu of degree, 10+ years of relevant work experience can be considered. Experience must be in MRP II, ERP, Supply Chain Planning System software experience with Buyer/Planner, Production Planning and Master Planning roles in manufacturing or operations required.
Skills and experience
- APICS- CPIM certification preferred.
- Knowledge and experience using computerized ERP/Inventory management system required; experience with being part of an ERP/inventory management system implementation preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to illustrate complex issues to peers and management teams in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to develop strategic alignment and convert them into tactical plans.
- Flexibility and agility to respond quickly and effectively in a highly dynamic, changing environment.
- Must have good organizational, planning, prioritizing and customer service skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Outstanding Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills required.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical Demands / Surroundings – Works in an office setting; may need to lift objects up to 30 pounds on a limited basis. This individual may be required to enter production support areas and wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) such as lab coat and safety glasses.
