SCOPE OF POSITION:
This role serves as the overall business leader of the demand planning process within the Boulder Brands Business Unit. This includes the development of the overall demand plan, the alignment of that plan between the different functions within the organization, and the translation of that demand plan to the supply organization. This role is the primary link between the commercial (demand) side of the organization and the operations (supply) side of the organization.
Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development and execution of the monthly demand planning process as the process leader for our Step 2 (Demand Review) process.
- Serve as the facilitator of the Executive Demand Review (EDR), leading the cross-functional team to align on the final operational and financial forecasts.
- Partner with senior business leaders to develop brand and category strategies, then translate those strategies into action.
- Partner with the supply chain organization on the successful handoff of the demand plan to supply, and provide perspective on future demand scenarios.
- Serve as one of the key members of the Marketing Leadership Team, providing insight into enterprise wide business decisions.
- Address contingency planning alternatives with Operations to address sudden changes in demand.
- Tailor inventory strategy according to BU portfolio needs and escalate major inventory/customer service/capacity issues and decisions to VP of Supply Chain.
- Manage the flow of the demand plan into supply planning to ensure consistent and formal information flows and process participation.
- Lead Business Unit key monthly S&OP meetings.
- Develop reports and monitor critical KPIs (inventory trends, forecast performance and supply issues).
- Coordinate with sales, customer service & supply planning on key customer service issues.
- Set up and manage cross-functional teams to plan for “big events”.
- Develop the associates within the demand planning organization into high performing leaders.
- Understand BU marketing assumptions and their implications for supply chain.
Qualifications SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Production and Inventory Control certification – APICS - desired.
- Provide personnel leadership in solving complex planning issues.
- Solid project planning, communication and analytical skills.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will have responsibility over a team of Demand Planning Managers and Planners.
