Supply Chain Planner- BioTRUST Nutrition
BioTrust, a leader in quality nutritional supplements has an immediate opening in the Denver area for a Supply Chain Planner.
Position Summary: Responsible for planning and procurement of raw materials, packaging, manufacturing services, and print, and managing transportation between suppliers and to distribution centers by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Issue purchase orders as recommended by the planning system or as requested by Supply Chain/R&D management
- Work under management direction to help with sourcing solutions for new and existing products.
- Understand the current BioTrust supply chain, including supplier’s capabilities and capacities, product ingredients, packaging and the final product configuration
- Monitor and report any significant market trends related to market pricing or supply constraints for items purchased
- Manage purchase orders from issue to delivery into the Distribution Center to insure on time delivery of products that meet product specifications
- Manage communication flow between suppliers and A/P to insure timely and accurate payments to suppliers
- Manage supplier quality issues including return material authorization, cause and corrective action documentation and supplier credits
- Manage work orders through the planning system to insure inventories are accurately updated
- Manage the inventory of BioTrust supplied materials stored at manufactures to insure builds are completed on time and cost effective
- Notify transportation of product ready for pick up and follow through to point of destination and accurate receipt
- Continuously evaluate the utilization of company resources to identify and implement improvements
- Negotiate payment terms with suppliers and manufactures
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a buyer/planner role
- Prior experience in an MRP environment
- Procurement experience with nutritional/fool products preferred
- Solid experience managing suppliers and utilizing strong negotiation skills
- Background with purchasing law or cGMPs a plus
- Demonstrated track record of building strong relationships, showing flexibility, utilizing strong communication skills and incorporating “big picture” strategic thinking
- Excellent attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize projects and strategy based on defined corporate goals and initiatives
Language Ability:
Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.
Mathematical Ability:
Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level
Experience with ERP systems including purchasing and planning using MRP output
Certificates and Licenses:
APICS, ISM or NAPM training/certifications a plus
