PRODUCTION PLANNER
Production Planner

The Production Planner generates and maintains schedules to enable the organization to meet sales and service objectives in a cost effective manner.
Scope of Responsibilities
-
Contribute to the forecasting, Sales and Operations Planning process, particularly the supply and capacity planning steps
-
Create and maintain an effective production planning and scheduling policy
-
Create and maintain a master production schedule that satisfies customer demand while maintaining optimum inventory levels, and resources utilization
-
Prepare and update daily and weekly schedules in coordination with master schedule
-
Identify, negotiate, and bring to resolution any demand/supply imbalances in volume and mix
-
Develop and maintain planning data/parameters such as: Safety stocks, planning bills of material, lead times, lot sizes, etc.

Monitor forecast consumption
-
Identify and inform management of capacity constraints, and recommend strategies to alleviate
-
Monitor changes to customer orders/forecasts, and their potential impact to the schedule; manage dates on all planned orders
-
Provide Metrics and analysis with proper frequency
-
Maintain continual communications with production, sales and supply chain teams. Inform them of any potential problems and opportunities related to forecasted and non-forecasted orders
-
Maintain work order module by generating, releasing, updating, and closing work orders
-
Provide production lead times to Sales
-
Work closely with Purchasing on material availability for production
-
Aid with inventories and cycle counts, as requested
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration / Bachelor of Science in Materials Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology a plus
-
APICS certification plus
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in scheduling, production activity control/capacity planning and/or MRP
-
Understanding of Supply Chain operational concepts surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing logistics, etc.

Strong analytical capabilities
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Microsoft Office Suite of Products
-
Experience working with scheduling and planning management software preferred
-
Knowledge of MRP population
-
Highly organized and detail oriented
-
Ability to analyze data to make decisions on material/product requirements
-
Ability to delegate tasks, as needed Ability to meet deadlines
-
Acts with a sense of urgency and assertiveness
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
