Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Commodity Manager located in Denver, CO. The purpose of this position is to manage direct raw materials used in manufacturing finished products, indirect products and services, and trading goods for resale. This includes managing supplier relationships and developing Supply Agreements to ensure JM maintains a competitive manufacturing cost position.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct raw materials and trading goods for resale with annual spend of $60M- $70M that may include:          

o   Single ply accessories                

o   Cements, adhesives, and coatings        

o   FESCO and related additives        

o   Perlite        

o   Fasteners    

o   Private labeled products and trading goods for resale.

  • Negotiates Supply Agreements and develops Executive Summaries for review with the appropriate executive leadership team members for approval.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction projects, establishes and maintains monthly scorecard metrics and updates that are then presented to JM senior leadership.
  • Managing raw material Supply Contracts and contract compliance.
  • Ensure uninterrupted and sustainable supply of raw materials to JM facilities.

 

This position will be a liaison with the Supply Chain Sourcing Leaders and the JM business units to include:      

o   Lead and/or support projects with multi-functional teams to qualify new suppliers, identify alternate materials, and to identify new processes to reduce costs.          

o   Support initiatives for new product development.

 Requirements:

  • 4 year degree - Supply Chain / Engineering / Business, or other related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Commodity Management or Strategic Sourcing
  • Experience with contract negotiating and contract development
  • Managing supplier relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Professional presentations experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Basic financial analysis-cost effectiveness and effects on the business
  • Improve working capital
  • Self-starter, innovative and adaptive
  • Environmental regulations knowledge
  • SAP experience preferred
  • CPM experience preferred
