PURCHASING MANAGER

Abengoa Solar owns and operates the Solana Generating Station in Gila Bend, Arizona, and is construction the Mojave Solar Project, in Hinkley, CA. Abengoa Solar is part of Abengoa. The Solana Generating Station and Mojave Solar Project each cover 3 square miles and contain 2,700 parabolic trough collectors. Each of these plants generate 280 MW of power.

This position will be based in Abengoa Solar’s USA headquarters in Lakewood, Colorado

 Purchasing / Procurement Manager

This position compiles requested materials, sources vendors, negotiates price and payment terms, etc. to generate purchase orders for the procurement of materials and services. In general, the position will deal with anything relating to the ordering of goods and supplies for the company, all this in conjunction with department managers and employees. Duties

• Some of the main duties include preparing purchase orders, responding to customer and supplier inquiries, reviewing requisition orders to verify accuracy, specifications and terminology, and comparing prices, specifications and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.  Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files, report price lists, track the status of requisitions, contracts and orders, locate suppliers, approve bills for payment, monitor contractor performance, calculate the cost of orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 plus years in a lead purchasing role.
• Must have experience purchasing/procuring in an industrial environment, i.e. manufacturing, construction, power plant.
