Experienced Purchasing Specialist
FORT LUPTON, CO /
SUMMIT BODYWORKS TRUCK & VAN BODIES – ADMINISTRATION /
FULL-TIME
The Material & Procurement Specialist is responsible for supply chain management, evaluating suppliers, purchase orders, purchasing goods or services and contract negotiation. This position will work cross functionally to ensure requirements are met when making purchases while ensuring the financial goals of the company are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and execute procurement of material and services from suppliers.
Assign part numbers and costs for custom parts-assemblies.
Work with manufacturing shop leads to define labor standards as required.
Identify preferred suppliers for each item.
Work with the materials to define the build schedule-ERP backlog that will drive requirements for all purchased and manufactured items. Align the backlog if changes are required.
Drive forecasts based on the sales plan through ERP to project future demands.
Act as backup for warehouse operations (receiving, cycle counts, picking, shipping, as required.
Perform functions and duties of the job that may require additional or different tasks to be performed when circumstances change (i.e., emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs or technology developments).
Communicate with the department managers to ensure production requirements and deliveries are being defined and executed throughout the manufacturing process.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.
Normal range of hearing and vision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Experience implementing and using ERP systems (Rootstock)
Knowledge of SalesForce CRM tool
Part number and Bill of material creation.
Vehicle knowledge
Quality system experience (ISO9001, design controls
Procurement-supplier management of various commodities.
Cost reduction track record
Supplier management skills
Excellent communication
Coordination with department managers
APICS CPIM, CPM certification preferred
Experience defining standards in an engineer to order-assembly to order environment
Strong work ethic, attention to detail and a focus on exceptional customer service.
Candidate must be a motivated individual who can work independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Cycle Count of Inventory
Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
