Sourcing Manager, Professional Services Danone

Danone North America is looking for a Sourcing Manager, Professional Services in Broomfield, CO.
As part of the North American Indirect Procurement Professional Services team, the primary purpose of this position is to manage purchasing activities related to corporate services, for Danone North America (Dairy & Plant Based products, Waters, Advanced Medical & Early Life Nutrition, on both territories USA and Canada).
This position requires proven direct or indirect services sourcing skills and effective cross functional project leadership, negotiation, collaborative, analytical and communication skills. Experience in Professional services (HR, Real Estate, Consulting and Financial Services) sourcing will be an asset.
Act as steward in developing and implementing sourcing strategies for Professional Services categories and lead key communications & objective setting with business stakeholders. Specific responsibilities include
- Driving sourcing activities, including but not limited to:
- Human Resource (HR) services: Benefits, Temp Labor, Recruitment, Relocation
- Real Estate: leasing of office space
- Finance, Legal Services, and Consulting
- Analyzing current needs, practices in place, market, request in collaboration with departments and clients
- Conducting market studies to identify new suppliers / opportunities and develop a robust supplier base Consistent collaboration and partnership with internal stakeholders to track strategy evolution as well as to align on future needs
- Defining, aligning and executing category sourcing strategies for 2020 and beyond, using the Danone procurement methodology
- Supporting growth and change through identification and implementation of adapted partnerships with identified suppliers, to improve both service level and cost control through supplier relationship management (SRM) tools
- Manage spend portfolio & productivity by identifying and realizing cost savings opportunities, creative insourcing models, and tail spend management
- Responsible for driving the Source to Contract Lifecycle for applicable strategic categories and adhering to compliance policies within those processes
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers, lead business reviews
- Facilitate agreement process by effectively collaborating and influencing various stakeholders such as IT, Risk Management and Compliance
- Leverage procurement methods to improve upon categories and business conditions to drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Provide occasional training for procurement policies and processes for shadow buyers involved in purchasing activities Collaborate with global procurement team to promote synergies for all Danone regions
Select Suppliers and Manage Contracts
- Oversee supplier related activities with direct oversight on:
- Developing and launching RFQ (request for quotation) to select suppliers in targeted categories
- Analyzing proposals and recommending scenarios to key internal stake holders
- Supporting negotiations with suppliers on quality, time & cost of service and contract terms and conditions
- Draft contracts. Lead contract ratification activities, assuring interaction with supplier and Legal teams
- Manage suppliers to ensure business needs are met and maintain Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to improve suppliers’ performance
- Develop and implement performance indicators monitor suppliers and support continuous improvement
Animate & Evaluate Suppliers: drive quarterly and annual business reviews with team:
- Evaluate and manage the global performance of professional services suppliers
- Define the objectives of improvement of performance and the necessary action plans
- Lead supplier relationship management (SRM) activities with internal stakeholders
- Ensure good supplier relationships
Control Budget & Productivity
- Lead, in conjunction of reporting team, Finance and stakeholders, monthly, quarterly and annual activities related to:
- Managing overall spend visibility, spend compliance and tail spend management on related categories sourcing
- Benchmarks to identify new sourcing models and to bring outside in
- Identifying new projects to create COVI (cost out, value in) opportunities, validate with finance, seek and obtain buy-in for these projects, contribute to build budget with stakeholders, achieve and track the productivity on a monthly basis
- Acting as a steward in foreseeing price and service evolution
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field of study
- Minimum of 6 – 9 years experience in strategic purchasing or related field with strong skills of negotiation
- Experience in Professional Services & HR Benefits sourcing mandatory, Real Estate a plus
- Language: English mandatory + French an asset
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional, multi-cultural, matrix environment
- Demonstrate cross-functional / peer to peer leadership through coaching and stewardship; People management skills a plus
- Proactive: anticipates issues/opportunities & can work through multiple simultaneous projects
- Fantastic project management, follow up and organizational skills
- Rigorous data analysis capability and financial acumen
- Ability to develop and implement strategic sustainable initiatives, and lead change by engaging people
- Comfortable in facing paradoxes or contradictions with resilience, tenacity and a smile!
- Strong political savvy and the ability to drive initiatives when faced with adversity
- Ability to evolve, in time, via different sourcing categories and / or increased accountability
