Supply Chain Commodity Manager - Packaging

Opportunity is here. We are DISH. The successful Commodity Manager will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a four year university or college (preferably in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Logistics or similar discipline) and 5 years of related experience; or an equal amount of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in commodity analysis, financial analysis, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working with the principles and practices of sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing, including ethics, internet research, bid preparation and evaluation, quality control, and inventory control.
- At least 2 years of experience working with market and commodity research/techniques, and a general understanding of contracts, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
- At least 1 year of experience processing RFP/RFQ packages for selected supplier bids.
- At least 2 years of experience coordinating purchasing activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Professional in Supply Management
- Experience participating in cost analysis and volume planning for assigned commodities
- Strong negotiation and customer service skills
Dish Technologies is looking for a Commodity Manager who will be responsible for strategic sourcing of protective packaging materials (determining long-term supply requirements, finding sources to fulfill those needs, selecting suppliers to provide the services, negotiating the purchase agreements and managing the suppliers' performance) at a Global level and Total Cost Management (controlling, reducing and eliminating costs, throughout the value chain; managing the financial outcome of activities encompassing all operations, internal and external for assigned responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinates purchasing activities with contract manufacturers, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
- Processes RFQ quotes for suppliers.
- Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity.
- Participates in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information.
- Participates in cost analysis and volume planning for assigned commodities (e.g. materials, components).
- Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value.
- Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive.
- May recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis or alternative sourcing.
- Interacts closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues.
